It was a productive night for members of the Huskies as OF Casey Lytle (Kansas) entered the game in the fifth inning and played left field. Pitchers Robbie Collier (University of North Florida) and Ben Hughes (St Olaf) both pitched 0.2 innings and allowed no hits and with Mark Threlkeld (Louisiana Tech) winning the Home Run Derby competition earlier in the evening, the Duluth Huskies swept the individual awards. Asche joins Brock Bond (2006) as the only other Duluth Huskie to be named Star of Stars at the NWL All Star Game. Threlkeld becomes the first Huskie to win the Home Run Derby. The Huskies return to town Thursday to face the Willmar Stingers at 7:05 pm as they kick off a 7 game home stand. |

The Duluth Huskies designated hitter Cody Asche was named the Star of Stars at the 2010 Northwoods League All Star Game. The Star of Stars is awarded each year to the Most Valuable Player in the game. Asche was 2-4 in the game with a 2 run homer and 2 runs scored as the North defeated the South by a score of 7-5 at Carson Park in Eau Claire, WI.
